World Surf League Biggest Paddle Entry 2020

Not quite big enough to make the top 5 cut of @wslbigwave paddle division. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ I saw @nathan_florence and @eli_olson bombs πŸ’£πŸ’£ first hand from the ski doing water safety during the contest and they were huge!
My personal memory bank prize is the priceless vision looking down into the pit as I went weightless taking off on this wave! For the love of it!

You can’t catch a wave like this alone just like you are not summiting Everest alone. This wave started the summer before in the gym with Sam and the @deep2peak team training my body and mind to be strong enough to put myself in position to catch that wave. Training again the September before with our water safety team for  @kai_lenny  @ian.walsh  @redbull_surfing  @stevereska  @purps805  @colemanruiz  @liminal.collective . Fine tuning and drilling our safety operations planning, execution and communication. You can hear pit boss @martin_lenny on the radio calling my ride over the radio to our water safety team from the cliff observation point that I put in rotation with my dad, Victor Lopez, @darrick  @kolomona1_  @ola_curnan  @dklegend  @shaunwalsh20  @andreamollermaui Mahalo Team!!

Without the fine tuned gear nothing would be possible. The magic 10.4 that @gerrylopezsurfboards dreamed and crafted. The @patagonia_surf safety kit. @micah_nickens  @dakine_surf for the heavy duty leashes. @piomfchawaii  @mfchawaii for the fastest fins.

The young bucks pushing the boundaries of what is possible and those that blazed the trail before us!

The media team that is there to capture it πŸ“Έ @poorboyzproductions  @powerlinesproductions  @tai_vandyke  @fred_pompermayer

And last my family and work Ohanas that support me doing what I love.

Mahalo to those that helped me catch this wave!!!!!

Aloha, @the.buoy.report
